Amanda Dorda RYT 200
Amanda is a Yoga Alliance RYT 200. She found yoga in 2009 as a compliment to her Muay Thai and Crossfit practice out in San Diego. Her first Crossfit workout was Murph (Thanks, Coach).
It wasn’t until 2012 that she began to explore and experience the infinite benefits of a regular practice. With mind, body and soul forever changed by the endless bounty that yoga has to offer, helping to spread yoga throughout her community quickly became a priority. She is certified to teach Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin Yoga.
So, Why Yoga?
The yoga that most of us have come to know and recognize is a physical practice. Whether it is a structured or free-flowing style, the postures of yoga have grown increasingly popular over the past few decades. It is true that the physical practice brings seemingly infinite benefits to our bodies. Increased mobility, lengthening of the spine, toning and definition of muscles, injury and disease prevention and increased metabolism are just a handful of those undeniable benefits. Sure, it’s probably the physical changes we want to see in ourselves that initially bring us to our mats, but yoga is so much more. The word yoga means “unite;” to join and integrate body, mind and soul. Through this unity we find contentment, balance and tranquility both on and off the mat.
“The success of yoga does not lie in the ability to perform the postures, but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.”
